Thanmayee Krishnamurthy

Academia

Thanmayee holds a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from Visvesvaraya Technological University. She recently completed her master’s degree in Ethnomusicology from the University of North Texas, Denton. Her thesis “Sing Raga, Embody Bhava: The way of being Rasa” explores how the Indian aesthetics of rasa philosophy account for creative presence and its experiences in Karnatik raga performance. Being both a performer and a researcher, Thanmayee aims to bring out the artistic link between Indian aesthetics, philosophy, literature, and the contemporary art-performances.

She has presented academic papers at National and International Ethnomusicology and musicological conferences including:
